NorthPath is a Canadian job board run from Ontario. You can use it without an account, and we collect as little as we can. This page explains what we do collect and why.
When you browse
- When you open a job or click Apply, we record which job, when, the page you came from (without anything after a "?"), and a scrambled, one-way version of your browser session ID. That record has no name, email or IP address in it.
- We use these records to count views and apply clicks, and we may share totals (never individual records) with employers. We delete them after 18 months.
- To keep automated traffic out of those counts, a scrambled version of your IP address is held in memory for up to an hour. It is never saved with your activity.
- We set two cookies the site needs to work: a session cookie and a security cookie that protects forms. We don't use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.
- Like any website, our server logs each request (IP address, browser type, page and time) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are deleted after 14 days.
Job postings
Listings come from employers' public job boards. We remove names, email addresses and phone numbers of individual people that appear in postings.
When you contact us
The contact form sends us your name, email, optional company, the listing you're asking about and your message. We use them only to answer you, and delete messages after 12 months. We don't store your IP address with your message.
Applying
Applications happen on the employer's own site, and their privacy policy applies there. NorthPath never receives your application, résumé or contact details.
Where it's stored
Our servers and backups are with DigitalOcean in Toronto, Canada. Backups are kept for 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it. Send us a message. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
